So to start Storee’s journey we have to start with the pregnancy. It was absolutely 100% different then the others. It just felt different. Ya know? This was also our first gender surprise baby. So that was exciting! I kept telling people I felt baby was a girl!
Physical health wise the best pregnancy yet. I chose to take care of myself. Which sometimes meant I was forcing myself to drink water… lots of water. I took so many vitamins. I had to up my protein which meant shakes, extra food, bars ect. This was because at our anatomy scan baby was only measuring in the 11th percentile (super small). I told myself it was an educated guess and God was better. Two weeks later I was in the hospital for a weekend which led to the diagnosis of pyelonephritis. I was pumped with antibiotics and given another ultrasound to check on babies growth. This time baby was in the 40th percentile (still small but obviously growing). The dr told me it is a guess and can always be off. I was sent home told to return in a week because I would be on antibiotics the rest of my pregnancy. The dr office didn’t have any opening for the next ten days so I was on my last day of antibiotics when it was scheduled.

When I show up they couldn’t find the culture to prove I needed the antibiotics so they couldn’t write me a script. In this moment I chose to trust God. If I had to have a script it would mean ditching my home birth plan and transferring care to an hour and half away. I knew that the disappearance of that culture meant an at home birth was the plan for me.
My midwife is amazing. She ran extra cultures and urine test to make sure I wasn’t getting an infection.
I didn’t have another infection the rest of pregnancy. PRAISE GOD!! On top of that my family was quarantined not once but twice because we had Covid.
There were lots of ups and down in the last 9 months. There was lots of lessons learned with this journey. Every time I reminded myself who was in control. I plead the blood of Jesus over baby and my womb. I worshiped. I listened. I learned.
